The Infant & Child Development Program (ICDP) serves children from birth to school entry who live in the Municipality of Greenstone. This home and community-based program seeks to enhance the growth and development of children who either have or are at risk for developmental concerns. Children and their families are provided with a variety of services based on their own unique needs that are delivered to promote optimum development and enhance parents’ confidence and capacity.

These services include:

  • Monitoring of the child’s development through screening and assessment.
  • Play-based programming and activities.
  • Information and support to families regarding their child’s needs.
  • Assistance to families to ensure they can access appropriate community resources.

The Infant & Child Development Program provides family-centred services that recognize how each family’s life and experience is unique. Our ICDP professional will spend time understanding a parent or caregivers’ concerns about their child’s development and will help them to identify meaningful goals and the programming that will support their achievement.

F-Words for Child Development

The F-words focus on six key areas of child development. Recognizing that no one factor is more important that another, they hope to encourage people to adopt this way of thinking about childhood disability and apply the concepts to children with disabilities and their families. It is a wholistic approach that encourages focus on the factors that are important to all children’s development, their participation, activities and environment.
